Return to Arms rated M?  Reply with quote

It's still early but Gamestop lists the game on their website as M for Mature and is selling it for $39.99. The price is much more believeable than the rating at this point. If the rating is really Mature, it'd be interesting to see what makes it that way. More Blood Vine perhaps?...

Great news if that is indeed the price point. I wouldn't count on it, though; there was early speculation with Champions of Norrath that it would be $40 due to it being a Sony title. It is, however, a SOE title, which falls under different pricing rules. Still, I think releasing it at a $40 would be an excellent idea. Could help convince those worried about the game being "more of the same" to try it out anyway.

As for the M rating, I think that is either a mistake or just pure speculation by Gamestop. The game isn't due out until February; I have a hard time believing that the ESRB has rated the game that far in advance. Never know, though!

I wouldn't mind the game being rated Mature, In fact I'd love to see it M rater. But... I have not seen any other M rated Everquest titles so I would expect it would kind of follow in the rating of the other games and be T.

I agree that it's probably some type of mistake. I just find it strange that they would blindly rate a game like that when it has a much greater chance of being T for Teen.

Why would 'M' rating be a good thing? PRetty much all 'M' rated games just through in gratuitous sex and violence to appeal to rather simple tastes. I can't see an M rating adding to the gameplay and it'd reduce the target market.

Surely a reduced price point should only come with an 'upgrade' to the original as well? Otherwise it sounds a bit like a budget release, though CoN is now low-price Platinum already isn't it. I guess for the small number of playability changes RTA doesn't warrant a full price release when the same gameplay is available from cheap CON.

Return to Arms will be rated T for Teen. I guess that site somehow got wrong information.

If you're referring to the PAL release yeah it should be there at relatively the same time. Maybe closer to April.
