Regards Interplay...

Yeah, Interplay is going through some rough times right now. I think it might be awhile before we hear any major news coming from them, unless it is news of them closing down.

Of course if there is a third Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance game (which I think would be unlikely), odds are Snowblind wouldn't be working on it anyway. Black Isle was shut down, so it'd be interesting to see who would work on the game. If there is a third, hopefully the new developers would be able to bring something new to the table, as I felt BG:DA 2 was a step backwards in some ways.

I'm pretty sure I heard that Interplay finally lost the D&D License for console games. Although they did say they were going to make a DA3 (with no D&D) but then everything went wrong.
I doubt we'll see anything new......

I can't imagine anyone developing a DA3 as the original DA engine on which DA is based is looking a little long in the tooth compared to SnowBlind's updated CoN engine. Either you would need a team to rework the licensed DA engine, or license the CoN engine (would SOE allow that?) or create something totally new. If the latter, it would probably be DA only in name.

It was a dumb, disjointed story anyway! Smile
