Kittens? A Tractor? (spoiler?)  Reply with quote

In the recent PSM review of CoN (they gave it a 9/10 btw) they stated that some missions may include rescuing kittens in a dungeon or riding a tractor through a lava field.

I had to read it twice.

Are they being cute, or are there some strange/humorous elements added to the game? Surprised

I read about the lava tank in OPM, but I think they failed to mention the lost kittens Laughing

Maybe they are trying to better portray the gritty reality of the world of Norrath. How often do heroes need to save the world? Probably not a regular occurance. How often do people need their kittens saved? I know we're saving our kittens from household dangers on a daily basis. With all the dungeon crawling that takes place in Norrath, I'm sure lost kittens are a regular occurance.

As for lava tanks/tractors, never underestimate the power of gnomes ...

Say no more, say no more. A wink is as good as a nudge to a blind bat!

Makes me feel heroic, I'll tell you that. I have never saved a princess before, but just the other day I got my cat down from a high ledge she got stuck on. SHE COULD HAVE STARVED!!!! (or jumped down).

It's really fun on the tractor when your friend is driving and then he gets out on a small island to break some chests and then you hope out of the passanger seat and drive off with it... I was laughing pretty hard. I finally went back to him and picked him up.

Squashing enemies is also fun with the tractor...

The beetles are nice target. The squish sound mixed with the "diesel" noise of the tractor blen nicely. Wink

But the Elemental are much longer to smash..and it will definitly help if they are block by a wall or structure...because if not, it takes forever...

Every "white flashes" that you make when hitting a beast is some damage. Don't expect blood flying though. On the ground yes, but no flying.

The lava rider is a lot of fun! I can only imagine what it is like in multiplayer. I grew up on a dairy farm, and it brought back a lot of fond memories. Well, minus the whole lava field/fire elemental/fire beetle thing. And the gnomes. Other than that, just like I remember ...

Wink

I'm on the "save the kittens" quest now, and I think it is a riot! Laughing For some reason it just seems very gnome-like to need help saving kittens lost in a dungeon. Much more entertaining than the standard "kill the rats in my basement" quest that most fantasy action/adventure/RPG games feature.

Good question.

I dunno. I never checked. I would tend to believe so..

That'll be by my next plan of action, squash things, look for XP... Smile

Yes, I will be trying the same thing the next time I'm there. I just hope I can remember to check, heh.

lava rider  Reply with quote

yeah the lava rider was fun but the best part was that you couldn't get hurt. It's fun but hard to control for me. Laughing . Anyway I could tell you about the kittens but ( Cool The man missing his little girl will only go back to her dad if you find her kittens in the cave) I really shouldn't. Wink
