WB Games Inc., seeks a Senior Software Engineer – Integrations to join the award-winning technology team behind the Lord of the Rings: War in the North(tm), F.E.A.R. (tm) and Condemned(tm) franchises creating exciting, cutting-edge action games on PlayStation 3, XBox 360 and PC. As a member of our studio's Engineering team you will work closely with your peers on both the Gameplay and Core Technology Teams to aid in the development of AAA quality games and state-of-the-art technology. As our Integrations Engineer, your domain will span the entire codebase, as you marshal code, with whatever support is required, between the teams. As part of our studio's highly collaborative engineering group, you will have ample opportunity to share your experience and expertise on the development of games, tools and technology. Opportunities for involvement in the creative process will also present themselves throughout the course of each project. This job will require collaboration with engineers on a daily basis and across all disciplines. You will also work closely with our QA and engineering leads to ensure that changes are being triaged effectively. Collaborating with this same group to ensure that integrations are scheduled carefully will be vital as well, with the goal of balancing timely feature and fix sharing with optimal branch stability. The Software Engineer - Integrations will also work with the Core Tech Team manager to stay on top of project/branch status and help maintain realistic integration schedules.
  • Collaborate with Gameplay and Core Tech engineers on integrating code to enable the sharing of our latest tools, runtime and gameplay technologies between projects.
  • Coordinate with QA and Engineering leads during Milestone lockdowns, controlled tools BETAs, etc to ensure successful roll out of fixes and new features to the teams.
  • Maintain integration pathways and build branch integrity to safeguard the development branches to the highest degree possible.
  • Maintain and extend as necessary integration tools and related technical documentation.
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years professional C/C++ programming.
  • 3+ years of code-sharing experience (preferred).
  • Supported development of a retail title from concept to ship (preferred).
  • Microsoft Visual C++/.NET development environment.
  • Familiarity with Perforce or other source code management software.
  • Familiarity with AraxisMerge or other source code comparison / merge management software.
  • Highly motivated to support development of exciting new gameplay, tools and technology features.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers and QA analysts to ensure successful sharing of large amounts of code across projects.
  • Focused, results-oriented, self-motivated, resourceful problem-solver with excellent debugging and strong communications skills.
  • Appreciation for and interest in helping to uphold a high standard for code quality and clarity.
  • Ability to thrive in a team development environment.
