WB Games Inc. seeks a Designer, UX to define the framework and behavior of interactive information (per Design requirements) for increased player immersion. This person works with a variety of team members to help design, create, implement and optimize UI assets for Console and PC game titles. They are responsible for maintaining high visual fidelity, logical menu flow, and presenting game information in a clear and understandable manner. The UX designer must work with industry standard and our own proprietary tool sets to ensure a high level of fit and finish to all UI elements. Working with Art Directors, Producers and Game designers the UX Design Artist will help design and shape the visual and functional aspects of multiple game products interface needs. This may also include UX/UI workflow optimizations and developing new techniques for visual display and information presentation.
  • Design, document and create UI flow - menus, stats and inventory screens, in-game HUD elements, etc.
  • Assist the UI programmer in the implementation of UI components.
  • Collaborate and communicate with art directors, game designers, producers & programmers in the creation and implementation of the game UI.
  • Contribute to the design of UI tools and processes.
  • Degree in Illustration, Graphic Design, Industrial Design or equivalent work experience as a User Interface artist.
  • At least 3+ years experience in the industry.
  • At least 1 published game preferably 360 or PS3.
  • Strong knowledge of user interface design and the ability to generate design ideas.
  • At least 3+ years experience with industry standard 3-D package (Maya, Max, SoftImage).
  • 2D art tools and authoring tools like Flash.
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills.
  • Strong understanding of information flow/design.
  • Basic Scripting Skills (actionscript, javascript, etc) a plus.
  • Scaleform Experience a plus.
  • Strong understanding of game development process.
  • Positive attitude and a desire to bring new ideas to the team.
  • Portfolio/website demonstrating your art skills, design sensibilities, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and redo/iterate work until it's right.
