SUMMARY OF POSITION
WB Games Inc. seeks a Director of Production to participate in developer due diligence activities to assess production pipelines, processes and personnel. In this role, you will review and provide feedback to WBIE Producers on all product production plans, schedules and ongoing production deliverables for all milestone drops. Collaborate across internal divisions to ensure our development partners are using industry standard production processes and tools for each product by staying abreast of state-of-the-art production practices and working closely with the Design, Art, Engineering and Production groups inside WBIE/WBG. Define and spearhead the creation of production services used for development support.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with WBIE staff to assess the viability of development partners, both internal and external.
  • Analyze production pipelines, processes, budgets, personnel plans and asset metrics through on-site visits to potential development partners or through the assessment of builds and documentation. Understand development partner’s team structures, roles and responsibilities, and leadership skills. Assess production pros and cons and complete due diligence reports with clear written recommendations.
  • Regularly review all product milestone drops including builds, schedules, documentation, tools, assets, etc. as required to provide a clear recommendation to WBIE Production staff.
  • Identify project risks and provide recommendations to WBIE Production staff for mitigating those risks.
  • Identify production tools, programs, 3rd party software and/or hardware that could be helpful to our development partners and make recommendations as necessary to assist them in achieving success.
  • As needed, identify and spearhead the concept of production services for WBIE development partners, both internal and external.
  • Ensure development partners and teams have sufficient management bandwidth to successfully incorporate production outsourcing into their development pipeline, and make recommendations on best practices.
  • Assist development partners in selecting production subcontractors and approve production subcontractors on WBIE’s behalf as required per project.
  • Coordinate between development teams (internal and external) to facilitate the sharing of information, assets, services or ideas that may be helpful to another team. For example, a “best-practice” of one partner might be shared with another. A contractor that is successful with one partner may be right for another.
  • Interact with executives and management to keep abreast of WBIE long-term objectives and adjust short-term objectives to match.
  • Collaborate across internal divisions to ensure our development partners are implementing industry-standard production processes for each product.
  • Establish, maintain and enhance company relationships with inside and outside production resources, third party vendors, and development partners.

  • Create a positive, forward-focused work-environment that indentifies and prioritizes issues for solution.
  • Mentor internal staff and act as a role-model for all development partner producers by emphasizing project goals, organization, and maintaining core focus.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 4-year degree or equivalent with excellent critique and vocabulary skills.
  • 10 or more years of development experience and five or more years of team lead or manager experience. Must have shipped at least 3 titles (with at least 1 being an Xbox 360 or PS3 title) in a senior production role.
